Flights

There are several airlines that fly to Bodrum Milas Airport (BJV) from various different airports. We tend to find flights in the range of £120-£200 but it might be higher in high season. The flight has a duration of approximately 4 hours.

Monarch

Monarch flies from Birmingham, Manchester,  London Gatwick and London Luton airports to Bodrum Milas Airport.

EasyJet flies from London Gatwick and from London Stanstead airports to Bodrum Milas Airport.

Thomas Cook

Thomas Cook flies from London Gatwick, London Standstead, Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Manchester and other airports to Brodrum Milas Airport.

Thomson

Thomson flies from London Gatwick, London Luton, Birmingham, East Midlands, Manchester, Newcastle, Birstol, and other airports to Brodrum Milas Airport.

 
Car Rental
When we go to Bodrum we tend to rent a car with: http://www.carhirebodrum.com/

We e-mail them as soon as we book our flights. We send our flight dates and car requirements, and they tend to offer a good deal. They have been very reliable. Last time we arrived at 3am (Turkish time +2 from UK) and there was someone waiting for us and deliver the car. They normally ask for the payment in pounds and it is paid on arrival. You will also need to present a credit card as deposit. Remember to check the car for marks and bumps before signing the paperwork. The car doesn't come with too much petrol so make sure you have some Turkish Lira (TL) with you. There are several petrol stations just outside the airport on the road to Lakeside Garden.

Note that in Turkey you would drive on the right hand side.

We recommend renting a car as it gives you more flexibility to explore the area, however if you rather not drive there are plenty of taxi services and mini-buses to take you around. 
Visa
A visa will be required to enter Turkey. It is normally obtained at the airport just before the passport control. 

UK citizens will normally pay £10 or 15€ and the visa lasts for 90 days. Might be worth checking the fares and any other information you might require with the embassy before flying. 

Currency

The currency in Turkey is the Turkish Lira.
